EVs will solve Peak Load?

Power stations have to handle both PEAK load and BASE load. This involves huge compromises. EVs are beautifully positioned to help address some of the peak load pressure.


It's not that we dont have enough power stations. The problem is we use power variably - at peak times we draw two or three times the minimum load - but the poor old power stations need to be able to handle the PEAK load. 

If everyone had some power source they could connect to the grid at peak times, we would all reduce the peak load demand. If there were lots of EVs with lots of batteries... Imagine that? Is it practical?
